LA VAMPA

A family drama about power that creates and destroys everything: people, families, business empires, entire countries during the second half of 20th century.

Riccardo is best known as 'the founder'. He created and developed Angelini Grani, which soon became one of the largest international food company. A labyrinthine place, in an undefined town of Italy, that hides secrets, legends and criminal stories of the country, from the heroic years of the Resistance to the dark period of Tangentopoli. Annibale is six years old: he is the storyteller. He has the ability to see everything that has happened and will happen to his family. He does not fully comprehend what he observes, he has no ability to intervene or change events, he can only watch helplessly. This ability is called la vampa, the flame. Like a primordial fire, it envelops and distorts him from the present and it allows him to participate in the murders, the dangerous relationships, the words of the mafia, the promises of politicians, which, like flames, flare up and go out around his family members.
