LA PEAU ET SES SECRETS: La comprendre, la protéger
THE SKIN YOU'RE IN: A Specialist's Secrets to Understanding and Caring for Your Skin
By the "Skin Guru" to Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama.
DESCRIPTION
In this meticulously presented and informative book, Jennifer Brodeur slays the myths of the beauty industry with science, tapping into the knowledge and expertise she has gained from treating celebrity clients at home and abroad to shed light on the body's largest organ and help readers to love their own skin and take care for it naturally.
Exploring a wide range of topics, this book presents the hard facts and figures of skin science, as well as whimsical illustrations and beautiful images created by Andréanne Gauthier with the author herself serving as the model.
EXCERPT
My minimalist approach is founded on the conviction that our skin has the ability to heal itself. However, we first have to ask ourselves why our skin is reacting in a certain way (blemishes, dryness, rosacea, acne, etc.) so that we can understand what it's telling us. We have to respect our skin. Many of the women I have seen spend years trying one skincare regime after the other, filling their bathrooms with every beauty product out there, desperately searching for the miracle solution for their skin problems. I have then seen these same women completely transformed after just a few weeks, flourishing with newfound self-confidence and pride in their skin and using far less makeup than they had before.
It has to be said: lathering on one skin cream after the other won't solve any problems, and it might quickly do more harm than good. That's what I've set out to explain in this book. It doesn't claim to explain everything
there is to know, but it does reflect my more than 20 years of practice, teaching, reading, research and consultations.
