IO VI SALVERÒ
What happens when you lose everything and find yourself wandering around a foreign country, crossing borders, with no money and no certainty?
Sebastian Carcani has a successful, high-paying job and a huge loft where he lives with his loving wife Ania and his son Giulio. Until one day, he finds himself out of work due to a relocation of the company where he holds a top position.
At the same time, a storm on social media is raging against him, turning him into the target of indignant haters, an army of strangers who wish him dead online. All that's left for his family to do is to leave the city, load the bare necessities into his car and set off for the more affordable Ukraine, where his wife Ania was born.
At first it seems like they are embarking on a strange vacation, but one night, while they are lost on the Hungarian-Romanian border, little Giulio is sick and in desperate need of a doctor and Sebastian realizes he has taken a much more uncertain road than he thought. On that road, he crosses path with another family on the run, escaping from the civil war that is ravaging Syria.
On the borders of the Western world, poised between hope and despair, the once-successful man discovers what it really means to struggle to save the people he loves. Only after having made peace with his biggest nightmare - of becoming a derelict, lost in the world - can he face the haters, the raging indignation on social networks and the global fury of communication.
