INDIGO STORM
Nicole Eliza Bridges is on the run. She's running from everything. Her life, her insecurities, her lies. Her so-called perfect life, which is anything but.
Her husband is someone to be feared—a small town gangster, who is not so small town. His tentacles reach into places even Nicole doesn't know about but she is more than aware the only way to a new life is to reinvent herself.
Nicole becomes Eliza and with her new persona, she drives across Australia until she arrives in the Flinders Rangers town of Bilman. The long drive gives her time to think up a new life story and history. When she arrives at Bilman she realises it is the end of the road in a literal sense and, feeling safe in amongst friendly and very few locals, she rents a room behind the general store and starts the long road to healing and restoring her self-confidence.
Within time, she starts to venture out and becomes the go-to person when people are going away, or need an extra pair of hands. She feeds and looks after animals while locals go away, she helps out in the little shop and becomes a governess for two young and rather unruly children. During an excursion to the Kaynaka ruins, Eliza becomes fascinated with the history of the place and starts to research one of the seventy families that lived there during the 1800s.
The research leads her into a place she never thought she would end up, with devastating results and just as she thinks things can't get any worse, her ex-husband arrives with his henchmen, determined to take her home and punish her.
FLEUR MCDONALD has lived and worked on farms for much of her life. After growing up in the small town of Orroroo in South Australia, she went jillarooing, eventually co- owning an 8000-acre property in regional Western Australia.
Fleur likes to write about strong women overcoming adversity, drawing inspiration from her own experiences in rural Australia. She is the best-selling author of Red Dust, Blue Skies, Purple Roads, Silver Clouds, Crimson Dawn and Emerald Springs. She has two children and a Jack Russell terrier.
