I MIEI VENT'ANNI
In the postwar years young Helga Schneider is searching for her place in the world. She has left her father’s house and travels Europe - Salzburg, Vienna, Paris and Italy - led by one certainty: the future will be much better than the past.
Love, betrayal, disappointment, enthusiasm, hard work and passion for writing, mingle and entwine in this memoir; Helga Schneider introduces us to her life, letting herself go with the narration, thrilled for the first time.
Helga Schneider was born in Poland and then lived in Berlin (which she left at the age of nine, immediatly after the fall of Hitler), in Austria, and became an Italian citizen by marriage. Since 1963, she has been living in Italy and writing for various newspapers and magazines. Her most acclaimed works, Il rogo di Berlino (Adelphi, 1995) and Lasciami andare, madre (Adelphi, 2001) are sold internationally.
