Cynthia Lord is a writer and the mother of two children, one of whom has autism. Her debut novel, Rules, has received numerous awards, including a Newbery Honor and the Schneider Family Book Award from the American Library Association. A former elementary and middle-school teacher, Cynthia lives with her husband and their two children fifteen minutes from the ocean in Brunswick, Maine.
