HERBERT'S WORMHOLE
A Novel in Cartoons
Just another day in the year 2019...
Alex just won the highest level of a new alien-slaying game and instead of getting a new game, his parents buy him a jungle-gym to get him outdoors and keep his mind off video games. They arrange a play-date for him and his neighbor, Herbert. Herbert is a nerd and Alex is not thrilled about being forced to play with him. Herbert is also an amateur inventor. He is currently working on modifying a 3-D video game so that the player can do in real life what the characters do in virtual reality like become invisible and walk through walls. While playing on Alex's jungle-gym, Herbert's invention is activated and the jungle-gym suddenly transports them through a wormhole back through time into a prehistoric jungle! Actually, it only appears to be the past. It is really a museum exhibit explaining human history in the 22nd century, when the world is run by G'Daliens, a friendly alien race with cheerful Australian accents who saved the human race from self-destruction. The aliens can see into Alex's memories, which makes them to think he is an alien-killer because they see his memories of beating the alien-slaying video game. Herbert, Alex, and their mutual crush, Sammi travel back the forth to the future in this clever, fun, and very visual chapter book.
Readers will love the laugh-out-loud humor and the cartoons on every page.
