In the depths of the Endless Forest, far from the eyes of the evil Macaque Empire two young monkeys, Sang and Hiro, are about to fulfill a prophecy.

When Hiro is given an impossible quest—to bring down the Macaque Empire by infiltrating it from the inside—Sang is certain he's been set up for failure. And thus, her own journey begins: She must save her brother, no matter the cost.

With the help of a rag-tag group of friends—a moth, a badger, a black cat, and a clan of shrews—Sang crosses the Thousand Kingdoms from Endless Forest to Frozen Northern Wastes, seeking out alliances from the splintered clans of the Sky, Forest, and Land.
