GOD IS IN THE CROWD
Twenty-First Century Judaism
Part call to action and part riveting personal story, an original proposal for ensuring the survival of Judaism from a pioneering social activist and Harvard MBA business leader who served as a fighter in the Israel Air Force.
This fascinating book is for anyone who cares about the fate of Judaism. A bit of background on the author: Tal Keinan was born to a secular Jewish family and learned little about Judaism until high school when he decided he wanted to know more. A trip to Israel led to his joining the Israeli Defense Forces, where he became the only non-Israeli-born citizen to attain the rank of an elite air force pilot. Keinan is an accomplished writer whose page-turning story of his life in the IDF is extremely candid. He is highly dynamic, charismatic, and an enthralling public speaker.
The impetus behind this book is the author's mission to reverse the diminishing number of religious Jews worldwide. He shares his personal story, which is woven throughout the book, to reveal to us what and why he believes Judaism is worth fighting for. In an interesting and compelling approach, Keinan then turns to Crowd Wisdom to determine what distinguishes Judaism from other religionswhat makes it worth preserving. He offers a number of highly original and practical ideas for moving forward, including the creation of a monetary fund that will invest in the future of Judaism. His original idea of linking Crowd Wisdom to the future of Judaism is one that he feels would provide an actual solution through a fund that will invest in education, social justice, and Jewish identity.
Tal Keinan is co-founder of Clarity Capital. Tal served on the Advisory Board of the Ariav Commission, a Bank of Israel-Finance Ministry task force on creating a global financial center in Israel. Tal is Chairman of Koret Economic Development Funds, Israel's largest small business and micro-lending institution. He serves on the Boards of Directors of the Steinhardt Foundation, Heseg Fund, and Reut Institute. He is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. Tal was previously a Partner and Investment Committee Member at Giza Venture Capital. He earned his BA at Georgetown School of Foreign Service and at Tel Aviv University, and his MBA at Harvard Business School.
