Colin Hartman is making the trek across the country -- from his college in California to his home in North Carolina -- in his old Jeep for the last time. He failed out of college two semesters shy of a bachelor's degree. And really, that was just another failure in a long list. So when he sees a guy in a gas station who needs a ride, he figures he'll step up.

Riley Sorenson is the most gorgeous guy Colin's ever seen. His short ride in Colin's Jeep turns into a trip to visit the Grand Canyon, and then a sweat lodge, and before Colin can catch up, he's in Riley's bed.

But Riley is secretive, and there are shadows in his eyes that never leave. Shadows that Colin can't fix, and that Riley can't fix himself. Colin vows to get Riley help, and for once in Colin's life, he'll do anything to succeed. Because failing Riley isn't an option.
