EVERY SKY A GRAVE
This is a space opera about the power of words; where humans have conquered the galaxy by discovering the fundamental language of the universe. This language is power and power must be guarded closely. If a planet deviates too far from the course, it's heresy must be eradicated before it can infect other worlds. This is where Elyth comes in. She is a world killer.
And her word is her weapon.
And her word is her weapon.
On a clandestine mission to stop a heretical uprising before it begins, Elyth comes face to face with someone that shouldn't exist. Varen The First Speaker, long thought dead. But he's very much alive and it appears he's not leading an uprising, he's being held captive. A fringe group need his powers because something is stopping humanity from escaping the galaxy. Something they can't describe.
In a galaxy that has solved the universe down to its most basic shape and understanding, there shouldn't be something they can't describe. It shouldn't exist. It is truly alien.
This book is a commercially minded science fiction about the power of words. In the market for female-led science fiction, Jay is doing for large scale space operas what he did for military SF in OUTRIDERS. Even though this is just a proposal, I think you will see that given Jay's track record and the incredible premise for this book, we have something with massive potential on our hands.
Jay Posey is the author of the Legends of Duskfall trilogy and Outriders series from Angry Robot. He is a Narrative Designer at Ubisoft/Red Storm Entertainment, where he has spent over a decade contributing as a writer and game designer to Tom Clancy's award-winning Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six franchises. He lives in North Carolina with his family.
