ERROL FLYNN`S WATCH

François Cérésa

In 1957, Patrick Lombardo's mother meets Errol Flynn in Juan-les-Pins, near Cannes. Because she has just asked “What time is it?”, the famous actor of The Adventures of Robin Hood gives her his swatch.

Since then, the boy becomes a true fan of the Warner star. So sincerely that he starts to reproduce the attitude of The Sea Hawk's and Captain Blood's hero, who was a great athlete, an incorrigible seducer and a real gentleman. Patrick gets the same taste for adventures, foolishnesses, girls and booze.

At 26, Lombardo joins a great newspaper and successfully starts a career in writing. Meanwhile he decides to fix the swatch. He never imagined this item, like a lucky charm, would immerse him into the intimacy of one of the Hollywood's greatest celebrities

Born in Cannes in 1953, François Cérésa wrote for Le Quotidien de Paris and Le Nouvel Observateur newspapers. A food critic, a book reviewer, he is also the author of more than twenty novels, including La Vénus aux fleurs (Paul-Léautaud prize), La Femme aux cheveux rouges (Freustié prize and Exbrayat prize), Les Amis de Céleste (Joseph Delteil prize). His last novel, Poupe, dedicated to his father, was finalist for the Prix Interallié too.
