ECHO'S SISTER
A touching middle grade novel about the sister of a girl fighting cancer and the effect both girls have on an entire community.
El is fully prepared for her first week of seventh grade at a new school. She'll introduce herself as El, instead of her given name Laughter. She'll sit in the back of the classroom and make new friends as soon as possible. She won't even think about all the fun her friends in her old school are having without her. Everything is going to be fantastic. But when her dad picks her up one day and tells her that her younger sister, Echo, has a life-threatening illness, she begins to doubt everything.
With her world now at a standstill and her parents pressed for time and money, El feels lost and powerless. Then, she befriends Octavius, the only other kid in school who seems to know what she's going through. As El begins to adjust to her new life, she slowly discovers her own identity and finds that maybe a little hope and a lot of love can overcome any obstacle.
Paul Mosier lives in Phoenix, Arizona. He is married with two daughters. TRAIN I RIDE was his first novel.
