DYING TO WAKE UP
A Doctor's Voyage into the Afterlife and the Wisdom He Brought Back
The diagnosis of prostate cancer led Dr. Rajiv Parti, the former chief of anesthesiology at Bakersfield Heart Hospital, to pain pill addiction, heavy use of anti-depressantsa, deep abdominal infection and eventual emergency surgery, which resulted in one of the most profound near death experiences (NDE) ever recorded.
Dr. Parti's NDE contained a number of elements that are rarely contained all in one experience, including a visit to a Hellish realm (this happens in less than one percent of NDEs) and a re-visit to two past lives, each of which explained why he had become drug addicted and materialistic in this life. He was also given specifics by angels and a Being of Light on the type medicine he should practice when he returned to life, a metaphysical Approach called Consciousness Based Medicine. He then experienced rapid healing of the surgery and his pill addiction, recovery called miracles by the doctors who attended to him.
Dr. Partis NDE also healed his relationship with his family. Cursed with an anger problem passed on to him by his father, Raj realized the nature of that problem when he met with his father in the afterlife. It was at that celestial meeting that he understood his father for the first time and through that understanding was able to coral his own anger issues. The result has been a rich transformation of his family life.
Most important is the fact that Raj, born a Hindu, was greeted in Heaven by Christian saints Michael and Raphael who served as his spirit guides during his NDE and remain so now, appearing to him during his practice of daily meditation. It is through them and other events (the death of his best friend, for one) that he has encountered Jesus, who left him with a profound message of unity among people of the world, one that says religions should not exclude one another, but instead rely on their common elements to form a bond of spirituality. It is because of this message that he has been baptized into the Christian Church, yet has not given up the Hindu religion.
Rajiv Parti left the field of anesthesiology to study consciousness-based medicine. It is now the centerpiece of his new career in which he teaches people to heal through specialized meditation, yoga and other spirit based approaches. He has been speaking to conferences and organizations about his NDE and personal transformation.
