Renowned surgeon and founder ofGundry MD,Dr. Steven Gundry’s revolutionary book shares the health secrets other doctors won’t tell you:
• Why plants are “good” for you because they’re “bad” for you, and meat is “bad” because it’s “good” for you
• Why plateauing on this diet is actually a sign that you’re on the right track
• Why artificial sweeteners have the same effects as sugar on your health and your waistline
• Why taking antacids, statins, and drugs for high blood pressure and arthritis masks health issues instead of addressing them
Along with the meal planner, 70 delicious recipes, and inspirational stories, Dr. Gundry’s easy-to-memorize tips will keep you healthy and on course.
Dr. Steven Gundry, FACS, FACC, FAAP, is the inventor of the Gundry Retrograde Cardioplegia Cannula, the world’s most widely used device to infuse heart tissue with a preservative solution during surgery, and the Gundry Mini-sternotomy, the most widely used method to perform minimally invasive aortic valve replacement. During his time at the University of Michigan, he was a member of the team that successfully performed heart transplantations in the world’s youngest children. He and his former partner, Leonard Bailey, have performed more infant and pediatric heart transplants than anyone else in the world. Dr. Gundry has served as the Head of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he conducted research in congenital heart surgery, heart transplantation, cardioplegia, minimally invasive surgery, and mechanical support devices for the failing heart.
Dr. Gundry brought his practice to the Desert Communities of Palm Springs in 2002, to establish the Center for Restorative Medicine in one of the most famous healing venues in the world. There he helps patients avoid surgical procedures by providing tools through nutrition and supplementation to prevent or alter the course of chronic disease processes. Dr. Gundry lives in Palm Springs, California, with his wife, Penny.
