Photographer and animal trainer Barbara O’Brien spent years photographing would-be canine actors, from prancing puppies to stately hounds to yippy terriers, discarding the photos in which a dog was barking, sniffing, or otherwise looking less than perfect. But she soon realized that the outtakes were the ones that revealed each pup’s true personality. DOGFACE is full of her doggie snapshots, capturing the goofiness of the boisterous Border Collie, the decorum of the genteel Great Dane, and the curiosity of the snooping Corgi. The result is a one-of-a-kind collection of photographs that are at once adorable and hilarious—and a must for any dog lover.

Barbara O’Brien is an animal photographer, trainer, and lover. She lives on a farm in Stockholm, Wisconsin with her family and a wide assortment of animals.
