DO BETTER
Spiritual Activism for Fighting and Healing from White Supremacy
Global thought leader, racial justice educator, and sought-after spiritual activist, Rachel Ricketts offers mindful, heart-centered and practical steps for all humans to lean into our discomfort and help dismantle white supremacy on a personal and collective level.
Over the past three years, we've seen a collective awakening in the hearts and minds of many people around the world. Sparked by regressive politicians and an increase in violent hate crimes, protestors are clamoring globally for an increase in respect and dignity for everyone. People are earnestly seeking out ways to understand and disarm racism, resulting in books like How to Be Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi and White Fragility by Robin D'Angelo exploding onto bestseller lists.
But how do we truly create meaningful change? How do we manifest lasting solutions and heal from the racism that has harmed us all?
Written by a Black woman who is a lawyer, activist, and spiritual healer, DO BETTER is the first and only book to address racial justice from a comprehensive, spiritually aligned perspective. According to Rachel Ricketts, heart-centered and spirit-based practices are the missing but vital pieces to the racial justice problem and she has infused this handbook with a variety of secular spiritual tools such as guided meditations, transformative breathwork, and journaling prompts for those prepared to face their shadows, unpack their privilege and begin the ongoing fight against racial oppression.
The book is an outgrowth of Rachel's Spiritual Activism webinars, which have been praised by Rachel Cargle, Glennon Doyle and Sophia Bush. Having worked with globally-renowned companies and spoken at international conferences such as SXSW and me Convention, Rachel has established herself as a thought leader and authoritative voice on how spirit-led practices can empower, motivate, and support everyone in the quest for racial justice.
