DISCOVERING SCARFOLK
In DISCOVERING SCARFOLK, Dr. Ben Motte introduces an archive of material compiled by Daniel Bush, a man looking for his young, blond twin sons, who disappeared in Scarfolk in 1970. As Daniel embarks on his mission to find his purported offspring, he discovers reams of Scarfolk council notices, pamphlets and publications, revealing more and more about the town. As he uncovers this material, so he grows to become increasingly suspicious of the Mayor and his constituents... Has something gone awry in the already very wonky town of Scarfolk? Scarfolk (the blog) is nearing half a million visitors, and has an avid following around the world. It has also garnered praise from all quarters, including "It's fantastic" from Reece Shearsmith, whose imagined village of Royston Vasey is of a similarly dark nature to Scarfolk, and "Brilliantly warped!" by The Independent. In 2013, Juliet sold books rights to Ebury after a 5-way UK auction, who have repackaged as DISCOVERING SCARFOLK. http://www.thebookseller.com/news/ebury-publish-scarfolk-story.html It is gift / humour territory terribly dark and funny and much in the vein of MOLVANIA, TWIN PEAKS, LAKE WOBEGUN and yet completely original take on the 1970's Richard Littler was born in Manchester and has lived in America, Russia, Ireland and Germany. A screenwriter with a decade of experience, he has sold several screenplays and treatments; a new feature project is currently in development in China.
