Since the dawn of music videos, scantily-clad girls have served to capture viewers’ attention, but only a handful have emerged as bona fide video vixens like Bobbie Brown, star of Warrant’s infamous 1990 Cherry Pie music video. Though they had arrived late on the hair metal scene, Warrant was one of the most popular groups of the poodle-haired Sunset Strip, breaking through with their 1989 debut, Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, which sold two million copies and spawned a string of radio hits. The group would become best known, however, for their second album, Cherry Pie, which also went double platinum, thanks to the video and Bobbie’s memorable appearances in it. When Bobbie and Warrant’s lead singer Jani Lane married in 1991, Bobbie became one half of one of the hottest rocker/model couples in Hollywood. Theirs was an MTV love story come true, and the public was hooked—Bobbie Brown became a national star, and Warrant would notch up sales of more than 8 million albums, with Cherry Pie going double platinum. But just three years and one baby later, the marriage imploded. Enmeshed in the rock ‘n roll lifestyle, Bobbie fell in love with Mötley Crüe’s fast-living Tommy Lee (who had once bet Jani Lane he could win Bobbie’s heart). The couple became engaged—but a year into the relationship, Bobbie moved out, tired of the drugs, the debauchery, and the violence. Just four days after the break-up, Tommy Lee exchanged wedding vows on a beach in Mexico with Bobbie’s good friend, Baywatch actress Pamela Anderson. The double betrayal by her friend and her fiancé sent Bobbie into a downward spiral of self-destruction. In a series of calculated “revenge fucks”, she methodically slept her way through Hollywood, bedding two of Tommy’s band mates (Mötley Crüe’s singer Vince Neil and bassist Nikki Sixx), as well as Leonardo DiCaprio, Ashley Hamilton, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray, and Jay Gordon of Orgy.
