DINNER WITH AN ASTRONAUT

Imagine what you could learn if you were to sit down and have a meal with an astronaut. What would you ask them? How about after two drinks?

Leroy Chiao dreamed of being an astronaut like many children do. But he made his dream a reality as the first Asian-American to go to space. One of fewer than four hundred American astronauts IN HISTORY, Chiao completed the rigorous training to be hand-selected for several missions. He's logged 229 days in space, and who knows, maybe he'll go again.

Today, Chiao aims to share the wonders of space with those of us who wouldn't experience it otherwise. His widespread space knowledge can illuminate the world of astronaut training, space missions (past and future), commercial space exploration, and the possibility of extraterrestrial life.

Leroy Chiao is a former NASA astronaut and International Space Station commander. He works in business, consulting, executive coaching and space education. He is a a professional international speaker, and a co-founder and the CEO of OneOrbit, providing keynotes and training to companies and schools. During his fifteen-year career with NASA he went on four space missions, served as Commander and NASA Science Officer of Expedition 10 aboard the International Space Station, and logged over 229 days in space over 36 hours of which were spent in Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA, or spacewalks). In 2009, he served on the White House appointed Review of U.S. Human Spaceflight Plans Committee, and currently serves on the NASA Advisory Council.
