With twists, turns, and near escapes, the characters take the reader along on an adventure that is as nail-biting as it is entertaining.

HEARTWARMING FRIENDSHIPS
Though Tacoma doesn't have many friends at the start of the novel, she immediately bonds with new acquaintance Denver, in spite of his insistence that he "doesn't do friends." And after the schoolyard jerk Hudgie is roped into the heist, the trio ends up supporting and looking after one another, overcoming their previous assumptions and resentments. The friendships in the novel are sweet, relatable, and heartwarming.
