DECIMUS FATE AND THE TALISMAN OF DREAMS

When the members of a remote monastery are struck down by a mysterious illness they enlist the aid of a former demon hunter and a man known as the Sage of Blackfell House. Setting out to find a cure they soon find themselves caught in a web of danger from ruthless crime lords, vengeful assassins and evil magic users who draw their power from the realm of demons. But why should a mission of mercy attract such grave and dangerous threats? Because the Sage of Blackfell House was once a feared and notorious sorcerer and his name is Decimus Fate.

Decimus Fate is the first in a series of books following the adventures of two central characters: Decimus Fate, a notorious and powerful sorcerer who has renounced magic, and Alexander Teuton, a former demon hunter known as the Tutor. The series is intended to be like Sherlock Holmes in a medieval fantasy world. However, this first book also introduces a broader cast of characters so that the series can expand to embrace the Robin Hood model, as used in things like Star Wars and Harry Potter.

Peter Flannery studied art and design before leaving college to work in forestry. After a work accident he moved into horticulture before switching again to set himself up as a sculptor working for the toy industry. A design studio in Edinburgh provided the opportunity to move from sculpting to writing and he became the lead writer for Target Games UK Ltd. He is now an independent writer working on a range of titles for both adults and children.
