COW BOY IS NOT A COWBOY
n debut author-illustrator Greg Barrington's hysterical picture book, a bull named Merle (who is a boy cow, and NOT a cowboy) forms a zany friendship with an energetic goat who cannot stop herself from saying howdy whenever she sees him.
Not much happens on Humdrum Farm and that is NOT okay with the outgoing and adventurous, Goat Girl. She's looking for excitement! Goat Girl thinks she may have found it when she encounters a bull named Merle, who she is sure is a brave cowboy since he is in fact a cow boy.
"HOWDY COWBOY!" He tries to set her straight..."I AM NOT A COWBOY." ...only to have her prove he's been wrong all along - maybe he is a brave cowboy after all.
In a delightfully funny picture book with surprises at every corner, Merle and Goat Girl teach kids about staying true to oneself but also stepping out of one's comfort zone. It's a brilliant take on unlikely friendships like never seen before.
Greg Barrington, a debut author/illustrator, owns a boutique design agency in Colorado Springs, where he tells his clients' stories through design and visual communication. Greg partners with a publishing company focused on monthly consumer magazines, interactive tablet digital editions and mobile device apps. In the past, he's taught as an adjunct college instructor in the areas of illustration, design, branding, packaging and art history. Greg is a Chicago native who currently resides in Colorado.
