COME FURTHER IN
An Invitation to a More Centered Life With God
Marilyn Vancil invites readers to COME FURTHER IN to their relationships with God with the power of the Enneagram model, using a brand new diagram (The Drawing)!
For more than thirty years, Marilyn Vancil has studied, written about and taught on the Enneagram. She knows full well how the system of nine interconnected personality types, when combined with deep scriptural truths, can lead readers to a life of freedom. In COME FURTHER IN, Vancil offers a way to deeper wholeness beyond the Enneagram.
What I propose is an adjunct to the Enneagram that I call The Drawing. It incorporates its wisdom, and also focuses inwardly toward the center space and extends beyond the existing circle.
This new book goes beyond the wisdom she shared in Self To Lose, Self To Find by presenting readers with The Drawinga brand-new diagram that adds a missing perspective, further unpacking and completing the Enneagram. As with other spirals and circles to illustrate the spiritual life, the primary movement of The Drawing is toward the middle space, our Spiritual Center, the transcendent way of knowing beyond the more commonly recognized Centers of the Gut, Heart, and Head used to categorize the Enneagram types. The Drawing depicts the holy attraction (or the drawing) of our spirits toward God's spirit as our ultimate destiny.
Vancil offers six sacred shifts to lead us from debilitating self-orientation to God-centered living:
1. From What I Am to Who I Am
2. From Reactive to Responsive
3. From Bondage to Freedom
4. From Wounded to Whole
5. From Shakeable to Unshakeable
6. From Burdened to Rested
The wisdom and practical steps Vancil offers will lead you to places of profound spiritual discovery and help you chart a course toward the wiser, more spiritually attuned person you long to become.
Marilyn Vancil is a Certified Enneagram Professional through Enneagram Worldwide, a certified spiritual director, and a trained life coach. She has completed additional coursework on the Enneagram, the Knowing Rediscovered Intensive through Identity Exchange, and training on The Healing Timeline. She facilitates Enneagram workshops, speaks at various retreats, and is a frequent guest on podcasts about the spiritual life. She lives and works in Seattle with her husband, Jeff.
