Monica Bellucci Guillaume Sbalchiero

Monica Bellucci's Exclusive Interviews

A movie star reveals her most secret self
Who hides behind this beautiful mask, this sensual look? What makes her an icon? When Guillaume Sbalchiero interviewed the star in 2013 for French weekly Les Inrocks, he was immediately mesmerized, wondering who this incandescent and uncatchable star was. It took him 4 years to complete this book and had 7 long conversations with the star between movie shootings.

Monica's career began with Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula in 1992. Her first French film, L'Appartement (The Apartment), directed by Gilles Mimouni in 1996, for which she was nominated to the Cesars competition, made her famous in the cinema world. Over the years, Monica appeared in blockbusters as well more intimate films, such as the scandalous Irréversible (Gaspard Noé, 2002, in competition at Cannes Film Festival), Matrix (Wachowski), Brothers Grimm (Terry Gilliam), The Passion of Christ (Mel Gibson). This year, Monica Bellucci costars with Emir Kusturica in his latest film, On the milky road, coming out in France July 12th, 2017. She stars in the third season of Amazon series Mozart in the jungle and will serve as the master of ceremonies for the 70th Cannes Film Festival, running 17th to 28th May.

This autobiography written under the form ou dialogues offers a journey - emotional, intellectual - with an unanimously celebrated artist. It delivers the words of a profoundly contemporary and definitively free woman.
