Jordan Belfort, the Wolf of Wall Street, and the members of his boys club, weren't the only ones running Wall Street in the gluttonous era of the 1990s finance boom. But you wouldn't necessarily know that, as history—and pop culture—often gravely overlooks the stories of others, namely those who aren't white men.

At only nineteen years old, Cin Fabré pushed her way past poverty and into brokerage firm VTR Capital. However, during her ascent from cold caller to stockbroker—the only Black woman to do so at the firm— Fabré endured constant sexual harassment and racist micro- and macro-aggressions to amazingly be promoted to broker, going on to land a $200 million dollar whale client, the owner of Manchester United, at only twenty years old. Rampant sexual harassment. Racist micro- and macro-aggressions. Fabré bore witness to the inequalities in the system. Latinx and Black employees forced to do the drudge work with no real prospects for promotion. Taking up golf to fit in among the boys and taking part in wild escapades involving Hamptons parties, drugs, sex workers, and booze, while never truly feeling like she was a member of the club, Fabré saw the stakes constantly raised, as more firms engaged in illegal activity. Trading frantically—and successfully—Fabré grapples with what is truly most meaningful in life, eventually beating Wall Street at its own game.

Cin Fabré grew up in the Patterson projects in the Bronx, and joined Wall Street at nineteen years old as a cold caller for VTR Capital. She became one of the youngest Black female stockbrokers in the history of Wall Street, successfully executing lucrative deals only to walk away from it all in pursuit of a more meaningful life. Following her time on Wall Street, Fabré moved into private investing. She currently lives in New York City with her wife, Irina.
