BÉRÉNICE WANTS TO GO ON STRIKE

Catherine Trudeau Cyril Doisneau

In search of the origin of a quite mysterious name.
DESCRIPTION
Seriously, why would anyone call their one and only daughter BÉRÉNICE?! Talk about an open invitation for everyone to poke fun. “Bérénice, she's obese, Bérénice smells like grease...” I'm fed up with it all. I've had it up to HERE! I've made up my mind: I'm going to make my parents change my name. And if they don't, I'm going on strike and I won't do ANYTHING!

Drawing inspiration from the world of Réjean Ducharme, Catherine Trudeau has created her very own Bérénice, a bubbly protagonist who's bursting with surprises, all of which are magnificently captured by illustrator Cyril Doisneau.

AUTHOR
Catherine Trudeau earned her stripes as an actress, TV and radio presenter and columnist before turning her hand to writing. After studying the arts and graduating from the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Montréal, she went on to play various roles on the big and small screen as well as regularly treading the boards in theatres.

Cyril Doisneau has harboured a passion for drawing since he was a child and studied first graphic design, then graphic arts and fine arts. In 2002 he was awarded the Prize for Young Talent at the Angoulême
International Comics Festival in his native France. He came to discover Montreal in 2006 and never left. Since then, he has published a number of comics and illustrated several children's books.
