BEAUTIFUL RISING

BEAUTIFUL RISING is the culmination of a two-year partnership between BeautifulTrouble.org and ActionAid that saw them conduct workshops with activist-contributors in Uganda, Zimbabwe, Burma, Bangladesh, Jordan (with activists from across the Middle East) and Mexico. Vandana Shiva is contributing a foreword, and the book features contributions from Arundhati Roy, Vijay Prashad, George Katsiaficas, and Mark and Paul Engler, as well as dozens of front-line southern activists. It was co-edited by Marcel Taminato, Juman Abujbara, Andrew Boyd and Dave Mitchell, and is one piece of a much larger suite of tools involving a multilingual website (English and Spanish, with Arabic and Portuguese coming soon), a messaging app, a strategy game, and an activist hotline.
