Three servants were milling around them, keen to fetch more steaming floral-scented cloths to cover the queen's recumbent body. Senator Niaj hesitated for a moment, fearing she might be worrying her for nothing.
"I think I might set up a meeting with the Harvest survivor," she eventually said.
The queen drew herself up on her elbows, and the warm cloths the servants had just applied slid off her chest.
"The survivor..." the queen mused, trying to remember. "What was her story, again?"
"It was more than thirty years ago. A battalion at the frontier of the Province was under orders to track and kill a Visitor who had massacred a family of local villagers. The soldiers were dispatched to the edge of the forest to keep an eye out. But they were the ones who ended up getting ambushed. An army of Visitors- we don't know how many - neutralized all forty of our troops in the dead of night, without a sound. Some are said to have been eaten alive.

She's also a huge fan of science fiction and fantasy books, shows and movies.
