Elise Hurst comes from a family of painters, and is an illustrator and author of children’s books, as well as a traditional artist. She has illustrated more than fifty books over the years. The Night Garden (ABC Books), which she wrote and illustrated, received a Children’s Book Council of Australia shortlisting in 2008. Her most recent book, Imagine a City (Omnibus Books, 2014) contains enchanting pen and ink illustrations and is highly acclaimed. Elise lives in Melbourne with her husband and their twin boys.
