A QUESTION OF NAVIGATION (NOVELLA)

Kevin Hearne

A QUESTION OF NAVIGATION is a sci-fi romp as only Kevin Hearne could write: it's fun and fast-paced, and never takes itself too seriously, but still asks thoughtful questions about the nature of humanity.
When physicist Clint goes for a routine hike, two things happen that no one expected: 1) his friend is eaten, and 2) Clint is abducted by aliens.

The aliens are human-shaped, easily bored, and, it turns out, dirty liars. While they say that they have abducted physicists, climatologists, and other scientists with the express purpose of having those scientists predict the state of the Earth in 1600 years - the aliens' timeframe for colonizing it - Clint and the other five scientists on board their spaceship aren't so sure. For the alien-in-charge, Emily, has given them each a key, a knife, a map of the ship, and the knowledge that the aliens are placing bets on who will rebel first. They want the scientists to revolt - it's prime entertainment for the long space voyage ahead.

But they underestimated the humans' abilities, as aliens are wont to do - and now Clint is leading a mutiny to take over the ship and get back to Earth.

A QUESTION OF NAVIGATION is smart and funny and unputdownable, bound to be devoured in a single sitting.
