A MORTE E UM DIA QUE VALE LA PENA VIVER

Ana Claudia Quintana Arantes

(To Die Is A Day Worth Living)

Death Is A Day Worth Living

In 2012, the author gave a TED Talk that went viral. It was viewed by over 2.7 million viewers and the closing sentence became the title of her book with more than 350'000 copies sold to date.

In "Death is a Day Worth Living" Dr. Ana Claudia has the courage to deal with a subject that continues to be taboo. Throughout her professional life, the doctor faced difficulties in calling attention to the fact that a patient deserves the best care and attention even when there is no longer any possibility of a cure.

Ana Claudia Quintana Arantes is a doctor who graduated from the USP, with geriatrics and gerontology residencies at the Hospital das Clínicas FMUSP. She has a position-Degree in Psychology-Grief Intervention at 4 Estações Institute of Psychology, with a specialty in Palliative Care from the Instituto Pallium and from Oxford University. She is the founder of the Associação Casa do Cuidar, where she coordinates the advanced multi-professional program in practices and teaching of palliative care. In 2012 she published her first book of poetry, Even Lines, used as a basis for research on poetry's impact on hope in people who are gravely ill. Her second book, Death is a Day Worth Living, continues to be among the highest sellers and most recommended books since its first edition in 2019.
