A Dragon's Guide Series:
A DRAGON'S GUIDE TO THE CARE AND FEEDING OF HUMANS (2016) - A DRAGON'S GUIDE TO MAKING YOUR HUMAN SMARTER (2017) - A DRAGON'S GUIDE TO MAKING PERFECT WISHES (2017)

Miss Drake, a kind-hearted but lonely dragon, is having a rough summer after the death of her beloved pet human. When another human, Winnie, shows up at her door in San Francisco, Miss Drake isn't sure she's ready for another pet. But no matter - Winnie is looking for a pet of her own, and decides the dragon is the perfect candidate. Miss Drake reluctantly agrees to this arrangement and buys Winnie a sketchpad to keep her occupied, which she promptly fills with a panorama of magical creatures both real and imagined.

But unbeknownst to them, this is no ordinary sketchpad. Suddenly all of Winnie's drawings are coming to life and escaping into the city. It's up to Miss Drake and Winnie to recapture them and restore the balance of magic before it's too late.

US edition will be illustrated by Mary GrandPre.

Warm humor, magical mishaps, and the main characters' budding mutual respect and affection combine to give this opener for a planned series a special shine that will draw readers and leave them impatient for sequels.

Heartwarming and quite funny . . . moving . . . Miss Drake's arch narration and the sharp back-and-forth between the characters create an enchanting story.

The tale is alternately comical, suspenseful and sometimes sweetly emotional, as when it touches on the deaths of Great-Aunt Amelia and Winnie's father and as Miss Drake becomes increasingly fond of Winnie. . . . Delightful whimsy
