I SEGRETI DI SUOR LUCIA

Saverio Gaeta

After the success of Nient'altro che la verità, Geata returns with an investigation destined to turn the spotlight back on one of the most enigmatic of Marian apparitions, at a time when the world was advancing into darkness and Mary's prophecies were one step away from being fulfilled.
More than a century has passed since the Virgin Mary appeared to Lucia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto in Fatima in 1917. While God seemed more distant than ever, Virgin Mary showed herself to the three shepherd children to share a secret with them: by fulfilling Heaven's will, mankind could be saved. Such a great responsibility in such small hands: Lucia was only ten years old, yet her life was already marked out. The future carmelite nun experienced the joy of feast, but also the hostility of those who saw a threat in her and what she knew. Only the highest ecclesiastical officials were allowed to read the third part of that divine secret, until Giovanni Paolo II, in 2000, decided to publicly reveal its contents. However, clues that have recently come to light definitively confirm another version of the facts: alongside that text there are indeed further explanations about Lucia, which have never been made known. Lucia died in 2005, taking the truth with her; a truth that Saverio Gaeta reconstructs in this book, the most complex ever written on the events of Fatima: an unprecedented investigation that unveils shocking details about the Vatican's actions, backed by unpublished confidences and confidential documents. Saverio Gaeta, a Vaticanist specialising in religious topics, has been editor of "Osservatore Romano", editor-in-chief of "Jesus", editor-in-chief of "Famiglia Cristiana" and deputy editor of "Credere". He has published some sixty books on saints, miracles and devotions. He has collaborated as an expert on numerous television programmes. He has also collaborated on various collective works, such as the Storia delle Chiese in Italia by Edizioni San Paolo. He published Nient'altro che la verità (2023) with Piemme.
