Free Assange!

Mathias Bröckers

Don't Kill the Messenger!

Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, was abducted from the Embassy of Ecuador and brought to the HM Prison Belmarsh on April 11th in 2019. Now the British courts have to decide on an US extradition request. In case of his extradition, he could be accused for crimes under the Espionage Act. As a result, he can be sentenced to death, not for committing crimes but for exposing them – in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere. The verdict on Julian Assange will show if freedom of press and of speech are still valid.
